Obituary

Bert Everette Cannon, 48, loving husband, father, and son left this world Friday, October 21, 2022, with his family by his side, after a battle with cancer.  He was born on June 17, 1974. Bert was preceded in death by his father, John Cannon; grandparents, Jo and Boyd Galyon, Everette Pyle and Henry and Margaret Cannon; and nephew, Brian Huffstetler.  He leaves behind his wife, Anna; daughter, Whitney; dad and mom, Howard and Gail Huffstetler; brothers and wives, Mike and Rhonda Huffstetler, Ricky and Mary Alice Huffstetler, and David and Missy Huffstetler; and several special friends and relatives.  Bert loved his church family at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, fishing, and playing sled hockey with his beloved "Sled Bears" team.  Everywhere he went he managed to touch someone with his life story.  He will be greatly missed by everyone.  We would like to thank everyone who prayed and reached out to us during his illness, and a very special thanks to the UT Hospice nurses that visited with him, especially Carissa and Beth.  In lieu of flowers, Bert's request was donations be made to his daughter, Whitney's education fund contact the family for details.  Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Dr. Scott Linginfelter and Rev. Clayton O'Neal officiating, interment will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Maple Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.  Arrangements are with Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
