Bernice Patton Carroll Long, age 83, of Maryville, walked into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, August 16, 2026. She was a member of Four Mile Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Winston Carroll and VJ Long; parents, Rev. Alvin and Bessie Cline Patton; son, Dwight E. Carroll; and brothers, Richard Patton and Harold Patton.

Bernice is survived by daughter, Amanda Bernice Emma Carroll Carter; great-grandsons, Winston (Bailey) Ward, Darren Ward, and Bryson Ward; great-great-granddaughter, Millie Ward; brother, Calvin Patton; sister, Linda Griffing; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. James Atkins and Rev. David Oliver officiating. Interment service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
